What’s Inside Kindle 3?

Kindle 3 may look polished and very well designed but beneath its surface, there is a whole other world worth exploring. Not everyone is brave enough to take apart a Kindle 3. The folks at EEVblog have done just that. In a video demonstration posted on that website, they demonstrate how Kindle 3 looks like on the inside:

The biggest item inside seems to be the battery. It is connected to Kindle board with two screws. Kindle batteries don’t die too early, but it is nice to know how to replace them (as long as you can find a replacement battery). The device seems to be designed in a way to minimize any interference among network modules inside (no iPhone 4 type issue here).

Kindle may seem very complicated on the surface, but its quite straight-forward to manufacture. Amazon has been managing its costs well too, which is why other e-reader makers are finding it very hard to beat Amazon’s prices.

What has impressed you the most about Kindle’s internal design?
