Thalmic Labs’s MYO Armband: Control Gadgets with Fingers
0Gesture-based controllers for gadgets are nothing new. We have already seen solutions that let users control apps and gadgets with their hand gestures. Thalmic Labs’s MYO Armband is another one of those. It allows you to control and interact with technology using gestures. You can wear this above your elbow to get it to work. You get to control web pages, switch between apps, and do other neat things on laptops and desktops with this.
The MYO Armband uses low energy Bluetooth and does not require a camera. It measures electrical activity in your muscles instantly. These folks plan to allow developers to use their API to experiment with the technology and develop cool solutions. You can order one of these for $149. Just imagine the possibilities.
