Tablets Killing E-readers?
0Remember the original Kindle or NOOK? People are still buying these awesome e-readers. At the same time, tablets such as Nexus 7, iPad, and Kindle Fire are taking market share away from them. According to research by iSuppli, the increase in affordable Android tablets has hurt dedicated e-reader sales.
In 2011, over 20m dedicated e-book readers were shipped worldwide. iSuppli suggests that only 7m dedicated e-readers will go out in the 2015-2016 period. This trend won’t be reversing anytime soon though.
