Sony Reader Wi-Fi PRS-T1 Shipping In October [Video]
0Sony many have had an early mover advantage in the e-reader market but the company has managed to squander its lead by not being innovative enough. The market is now being dominated by Kindle and NOOK, with Kobo holding its own. This may be the case of being too little too late for Sony but the company is bringing a new e-reader to the market in October. Sony Reader Wi-Fi PRS-T1, which will be selling for $149, has a touchscreen with WiFi support on-board.
Just like NOOK and Kobo e-reader, Sony’s new e-reader will take advantage of Neonode’s infrared touch-screen technology. A 1Ghz processor is included in Sony Reader Wi-Fi PRS-T1, which is not bad for an e-book reader. Its battery is expected to last 5 weeks on a single charge. PDF, EPub, and Word file formats will be supported. This is a pretty decent effort by Sony. But the device is still more expensive than NOOK and Kindle and won’t offer as much.
Will you be picking up one of these?
