Plastic Aims At Kindle
0I have seen many e-book readers that are expected to challenge Amazon Kindle in the future. But not has impressed me as much as Plastic. The device has a large screen that makes it easy to read books. There is a touchscreen feature that allows you to type or turn pages. These are even talking about adding a color screen in the future that can put this reader over the top.
I like the fact that the guys at Plastic are not banking on their device beating the Kindle on its own. They understand that you need to have the right ecosystem in place to help the device catch fire. By signing up content publishers, Plastic put itself in a better position to mount a real challenge to Amazon. So they are on the right track, and we can expect Plastic’s reader to go head to head with Kindle 3.0 next year. It’s going to be exciting to see what Plastic can do to take market share away from Amazon.
What’s your take? Would you consider getting a Plastic reader instead of a Kindle if the price is right? What would be your ideal price?
