Nook vs. 1.4.1: Adds Netflix, Breaks Hacks

In case you missed it, B&N released an update for the NOOK Color tablets yesterday. Nook vs. 1.4.1 brings a number of new features and improvements to NOOK tablets (including Netflix). NOOK users will also get more fonts, a new reading mode, a number of new apps, and a new look for NookStore. The update will be rolled out completely over the next week. But manual update is possible as well.
Here is a summary of what NOOK owners will get with this update:
- Netflix and content streaming
- NOOK Comics with Marvel graphic novels
- PagePerfect NOOK Books: titles especially crafted to keep their print layout on the NOOK Color.
- Over 100 small enhancements (new modes, dictionary improvement, …).
NOOK Color owners can either wait for their update or download it manually. The process takes only a few minutes. Don’t know which version you are running on your NOOK? Just go to About tab under Device info section to find that out. This update does break a few hacks though.
