Microsoft / B&N Tablet with Xbox Live?

Microsoft is not happy to give up the tablet market to Apple. The company has been working hard to bring Windows 8 to the market to start going after Apple. As it turns out, Microsoft has a big announcement planned for this week. I have heard a number of rumors about the nature of this event. Most point to a collaborative tablet/e-reader project with Barnes & Noble.
According to TechCrunch, Microsoft and B&N will announce a tablet with Xbox Live Streaming today. These companies entered into a strategic partnership in late April. So it would not be surprising for Microsoft to start bringing tablets/e-readers out with the help of B&N. Barnes & Noble did suggest a few months ago that NOOKs will continue to run Android for the time being. It will be interesting to see what Microsoft calls this tablet.
These are all rumors at this point. There is no way to confirm this, especially since Microsoft announced this just a short while ago. The event’s focus will be on Windows 8. How B&N will be involved is the big question at this point.
