Mechanical Book Reader from 1935
0Many of us own e-readers and love using them to carry our books everywhere we go. The idea behind these devices is nothing new though. People have always looked for ways to read books more conveniently. This particular concept is from 1935 and shows a man reading a book on a glass screen that enlarges its content. The user could turn pages using a remote control.
We don’t know whether the device was ever developed. It certainly did not catch on like the current e-reading devices. It probably would have been a very costly device. Thanks to devices such as the Kindle and NOOK, we won’t have to ever deal with these giant book readers.
