Libre eBook Reader Going for $119?
0E-reader prices are going to come down sooner rather than later. The market is maturing a bit, which means not every company will be focusing on the high-end segment. If you are looking for those more affordable e-readers, Borders has you covered. Borders.com has Kobo Reader and Libre E-Book Reader Pro for $149.99 and $119.99 respectively. Libre eBook Reader is not only affordable, but it also offers 100 free classics and works with Borders desktop application too.
Libre Reader features a 5 inch monochrome LCD screen. It weighs only 7.6 ounces and offers 256 MB of built-in memory. The memory can be expanded by up to 32 GB (using a SD card). The device is not a Kindle killer by any means, but it’s a much more affordable option for e-reader fans.
Here is a quick summary of Libre Reader’s specifications:
- has a Reflective Light LCD screen
- 100 free classics included
- 24 hours of battery life per charge
- 256 built in memory (expandable)
- Mac and PC sync
The device does not come with a 3G plan. It’s a step backwards in that regard. It is super affordable though. It’ll be interesting to see how the device will be received by e-reader fans when it is released on July 2nd. The device will probably be cheaper in the future as Amazon and B&N drop their prices.
Would you invest in one of these?
