Kyobo eReader with Mirasol Screen Gets Reviewed
0Plenty of people are excited about Mirasol e-book readers. We have been waiting for a decent one to hit the market. The Kyobo eReader certainly looks like a decent e-reader on paper. It is more than capable of displaying content in color. It has a 5.7 inch touchscreen with a 1 GHz SnapDragon CPU. The device runs Android 2.3.5 and has WiFi functionality.
The Digital Reader has already had a chance to review this device. The review is not that glowing. No shopper wants to hear about an e-reader’s lack of ability to load apps. The battery life on this device is not comparable to what the Kindle or NOOK offer. The video performance on it is allegedly supbar. The device does not play well with DRM-protected content and ePub.
Kyobo eReader was never going to be a Kindle killer anyway. Amazon will surely introduce a color e-paper device in the near future. It will be interesting to see whether it chooses the Mirasol technology for the job.
