Kindle Sales Quadruple During Black Friday
0Amazon has priced its e-reader to sell like hotcakes. Things have gone according to the plan for Amazon on Black Friday or so it seems. The company has reported that sales of its Kindle family lineup has quadrupled after the Black Friday shopping event.
Even before the busy holiday shopping weekend, we’d already sold millions of the new Kindle family and Kindle Fire was the bestselling product across all of Amazon.com. Black Friday was the best ever for the Kindle family – customers purchased 4X as many Kindle devices as they did last Black Friday – and last year was a great year,
said Dave Limp, Vice President, Amazon Kindle. It seems many customers are buying multiple Kindles which is only good news for Amazon. Amazon.com was running a very special discount on the Kindle DX. Unfortunately, the company does not like to release real numbers, so we can’t say how well that worked out.
For those who are not following the world of e-readers, Amazon’s everyday prices on Kindles look like Black Friday prices. The e-readers of today are getting so cheap that people are running out of excuses not to have one. Amazon’s broad ecosystem certainly helps its cause with e-reader shoppers. With the addition of the Kindle Fire, Amazon shoppers have a tablet to choose for their e-reading and entertainment needs. The Kindle family is expected to remain successful for the foreseeable future.
