Kindle for Windows Phone 7 Arrives
0Nothing could be more frustrating than picking up a new phone and not having a way to install Kindle on it. Amazon’s ambitious plans for Kindle mean we won’t have to worry about that. The company has announced the release of Kindle app for Windows Phone 7 devices. Like other Kindle apps, Kindle for Windows Phone 7 takes advantage of Whispersync technology and gives users access to over 750K e-books.
Here is a summary of what this application offers:
- Access to 775,000 books (roughly) and counting
- Whispersync technology for reading across multiple devices
- various fonts and backgrounds
- speedy interface for your e-book shopping needs
Amazon plans to support future tablets with its Kindle apps as well. That means by the time Amazon is done, Kindle will be available for the majority of relevant devices on the market.
With Kindle books you never have to worry about what to do if you change devices or platforms. Our free ‘Buy Once, Read Everywhere’ apps make it easy for you to read your books on any device you choose – your Kindle, Kindle 3G, Kindle DX, iPad, iPhone, PC, Mac, BlackBerry, Android-based device, and now your Windows Phone 7-based device,
said Dorothy Nicholls, Director, Amazon Kindle. While we are impressed with Amazon Kindle apps, they are far from perfect products. There are many areas in which these apps can be improved. Considering that Kindle app can run on Nook and other e-readers such as iPad, Amazon will continue to dominate the e-book market for the foreseeable future.
