Kindle Fire Going International?
0Amazon has already sold millions of Kindle Fire units already. It will be selling a few more by taking the device to new markets. Amazon’s overseas customers will soon be able to gain access to apps for the Kindle Fire. Amazon announced that yesterday.
developers can now submit apps for distribution this summer in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, with plans for further global expansion in the near future.
This could mean only one thing. Amazon is getting even more serious about international expansion. The Kindle Fire has been losing some momentum in the past couple of months. This move could boost the device. Amazon is also introducing new terms for developers:
Starting on July 1, developers will earn 70 percent of list price on each paid app sale. This is a change from the prior terms under which developers earned either 70 percent of the app’s sales price or 20 percent of list price (whichever was greater).
We are still not sure when the Kindle Fire 2 will make its debut. With the Microsoft Surface and Google Nexus 7 on the way, Amazon needs to step up its game quickly.
