Kindle Fire Gets Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
0The Kindle Fire is one of the most popular Android tablets already. It is a very compact device and costs under $200. But the software is not ideal for everyone. A hacker named Stephen (username g1011999 on YouTube) has managed to get Android 4.0.1 to run on the Kindle Fire. A video demonstration has already been posted for those of you interested.
This Kindle Fire hack is not perfect yet. The audio and networking features are yet to be addressed. Stephen promises to release the code for those interested in the near future. Amazon Kindle Fire may not have the best hardware on the market among tablets. But it seems to be more than good enough to handle Android 4.0. Will Amazon bring Android ICS to the Kindle Fire anytime soon? We doubt it. But you won’t have to wait as long as you don’t mind getting your hands dirty with Kindle hacks.
