iTunes 9.1: Support for E-books Coming
0The iPad has already started shipping and most people who pre-ordered the device are expected to get their hands on their gadget by April 3rd (there may be some delay for some). As expected, a brand new iTunes is in the works to give iPad owners a chance to pick up books from iTunes. So while you do get a chance to buy your e-books from Amazon and B&N (when you use their apps), iTunes 9.1 makes it much easier for iPad owners to sync their device and add more content to their iPad.
The new iTunes will not only have e-books, but it will also contain the audio-books that we have come to love in iTunes. These two will probably be combined under one category to avoid confusing iPad owners.
The new iTunes will most likely have a lot of glitches, so we are not going to get a perfect product at first. We have seen what Apple has done with its App Store, so there is hope for its e-book store as well. I do hope that Apple has worked enough on its recommendation feature to make it work more effectively with e-books.
Your turn: what features would you like to see implemented in the next version of iTunes?
