Google To Patent Audio Trigger for Books?
0The idea of interactive books is nothing new. It is no secret that enhanced e-books can provide you with a better learning experience and get young children more engaged. Google is aiming to take the idea a step further. It wants to patent audio trigger points for digital reading to enhance your experience. That means your future e-books could rely on sound effects to enhance stories.
Most e-book readers we have seen can play audio. But you don’t have books that actually take advantage of that. Google’s method involves embedding trigger points in books which are activated when the reader reaches specific points in his/her book. There are other players involved in this market (e.g. BookTrack), so it will be interesting to see what Google will do to differentiate its solution.
