Getting Started with Hootsuite Syndicator
0Google Reader is done. It was going to happen eventually but Google surprised many of us by closing down the service on July 1. The good news is there are plenty of awesome services that could replace Google Reader. If you happen to use Hootsuite to manage your social media profiles, you may want to consider using HootSuite Syndicator.
To get started, log on to HootSuite and visit App Directory to enable HootSuite Syndicator. Once you install the app, you will be able to import your feeds or add them individually. Each feed can be managed from the Subscription Manager page. Users can group their feeds together and show groups or individual RSS feeds in their stream. Feeds can be filtered by keyword which is a plus.
HootSuite is not going to completely replace Google Reader. But if you have a few must-follow RSS feeds, Hootsuite Syndicator has you covered. Let’s not forget HootSuite is a freemium service.
