Firefox OS Tablet Revealed

Firefox tablets are coming. Many of us are already used to iOS and Android tablets and won’t be switching to other platforms. But many in the tech world are fascinated with Firefox OS tablets. VIA happens to be offering a 7″ Vixen reference tablet for developers to help the community complete Firefox OS for tablets. Here are the reference specifications for the device:
- 7’’ 1024×600 HD LCD screen
- 1.2 GHz Dual Core Cortex-A9 processor
- ARM Mali-400 Dual-Processor GPU
- 8GB storage
- 1GB RAM
- Cameras: Front 0.3 MP, Back 2.0 MP
- Wifi: 802.11 b/g/n
It will be interesting to see how this turns out. Developing apps for Firefox OS tablets certainly sounds fun. But how consumers will react to tablets running Firefox OS remains to be seen.
