Firefox OS Tablet Prototype

iOS and Android are great operating systems for tablets and smartphones. But we all would love to see more viable competitors to them on the market. Firefox OS happens to be a browser-based operating system that runs HTML5 web apps. It seems we might see Firefox OS tablet soon. Mozilla’s Asa Dotler has shared the specs for the first tablets that will run Firefox OS:
- 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display
- 2GB of RAM
- 16GB of storage
- Allwinner A31 ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core processor
- PowerVR SGX 544
- front/rear cameras
- Bluetooth/GPS/WiFi
- micro SD card slot
- 7000 mAh battery
This tablet is not going to outperform high-end slates. Nevertheless, this is just a start. It will be interesting to see what other tablets will be released under this program.
