Best Father’s Day Gift Idea: Kindle, NOOK, or iPad?
0Father’s day is almost upon us. While we should not wait till Father’s day to show appreciation for our dads, this is not a bad time to gift dad something he can use. E-book readers make great gifts. They can make it more convenient for dads to read more often and save money on e-books. Choosing the right e-book reader for your dad is not that easy. Not everyone feels comfortable using iPads of this world. NOOK and Kindle have their advantages and disadvantages.
I have personally given my dad all the above mentioned products. He seems to be in love with Kindle and not so impressed with finger-touch e-readers. The iPad is not a very cheap e-reader and can be confusing for those who are not that technical. Amazon Kindle has been the top e-reader for quite some time. But its interface needs a lot of work. Still, those who are not tech-savvy may find it less overwhelming to get used to.
The 2nd generation NOOK is more compact than Kindle and does look more impressive with its touch-enabled E-ink screen. It offers as much battery life as Kindle. Choosing the right e-reader for dad should not have to be difficult. NOOK 2 and Kindle 3 are both very capable devices and offer a lot of bang for your buck. Based on my experience, Kindle is the better choice for those who do not feel comfortable using touch-screen devices.
