Early Thoughts On Acer Iconia W3
0Since the very day the Acer Iconia W3 was leaked online, we have been waiting to get our hands on one. The wait is finally over. We have already reviewed the Acer Iconia W7 tablet on our YouTube channel and compared it with other top tablets around. The Acer Iconia W3 happens to be the first 8.1 inch Windows 8 tablet. It does have an Intel Atom Dual-Core Processor Z2760 inside, so you will be able to run legacy Windows apps on the device.
Acer did ship us a free case and keyboard when we purchased our Iconia W7 tablet. That was not the case this time around. The keyboard dock sets you back about $80. You also have to buy a case and screen protector for your Iconia W3-810. The tablet is much easier to hold than the Iconia W7 or even the iPad. The design is solid but feels cheap in comparison to other Windows 8 tablets we have tested.
The Iconia W3 is not going to be the fastest tablet on the market. We did manage to get about 8.5 hours of battery life per charge (we tested it a few times and averaged the results). The screen leaves a lot to be desired though. Considering that this tablet costs as low as $379, there isn’t a whole lot else we can complain about. This tablet is definitely not for everyone but might work fine for professionals who are constantly on the go.
