Blurb Launches $1.99 iPad Publishing Service
0The e-book publishing business is on the rise. Platforms such as Kindle and iOS have given independent authors the chance to get their work in front of millions of people around the globe. Services such as those offered by Blurb make it easier for people to publish their work more conveniently. Blurb’s new service enables artists and photographers to publish their collection of works as e-books.
Blurb ebooks are now available for any book made with Blurb BookSmart® or Blurb Bookify™ (with PDF to Book support coming soon). And we think this is pretty big: Full resolution, beautiful versions of your books on Apple’s iOS® devices for a fraction of the cost of the printed book. And while much of the ebook market has focused on novels, here we’re focusing on something else: ephotobooks.
Publishers pay only $1.99 for their e-photobooks and keep 100% of their profits. At this point, this service will be available for iBooks. The folks behind Blurb do intend to offer this service for other platforms in the near future. It is worth noting that Blurb aims to make life easier for artists by doing the majority of the hard work behind the scenes. A more detailed announcement about this service is expected soon.
