ASUS Padfone X Will Be Available from AT&T

AT&T has announced that it will carry the ASUS Padfone X. This is a smartphone and tablet in one. The PadFone X is a 5 inch full HD smartphone that activate a 9-inch tablet when you dock it. It runs Android KitKat 4.4.
The PadFone X is first of its kind in the U.S. It combines leading technology, a beautiful design and a remarkably seamless application experience – all on the nation’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network. This allows consumers to run their smartphone apps instantly on a vivid 9-inch tablet display. The magic of it is that the experience is not just bigger, it’s better than on a traditional smartphone.

Hybrid devices such as this one are nothing new. ASUS is relying on this approach to target folks who want a tablet and smartphone but don’t want to purchase two very different prices.
The companion battery station for PadFone X Station has a large battery that provides two times longer battery life. The device does look promising but whether it will be a hit is another story.
