ASUS Launches Clover Trail Based VivoTab, E-Reading Rising in U.S.
0We have covered Clover Trail based Windows 8 tables here a number of times in the past. These tablets are capable of running full Windows programs and can act as an ultra-portable laptop. The VivoTab tablet by ASUS is a new Clover Trail based tablet with 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760 CPU, 11.6 inch display, and an optional dock.
The tablet will offer 19 hours of battery life with the dock, 2 USB 2.0 ports, and an 8 MP rear camera. The device will take advantage of Bluetooth 4.0 and come bundled with 32GB of Asus Web storage space free for 36 months. The starting price is not known at this point.
We are going to hear a lot more about tablets and e-readers in 2013 and beyond. More people are getting used to the idea of using these devices to read at home and on the go. A study released by the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project suggests the number of people who read e-books has risen by 16% from the previous year. Book borrowing has increased as well.
E-books are on the rise and paper books are getting less attention these days. With e-readers and tablets becoming so cheap, this trend is expected to sustain in the upcoming years. This is very good news for Amazon and other players involved in the e-book business.
