Amazon To Release 9 Inch Kindle Fire in 2012?

Amazon has already had a lot of success with the Kindle Fire. For a first generation device, the Kindle Fire has performed fairly well. Not every Kindle fans is happy with the screen size and overall design of this tablet though. According to Pacific Crest analyst Chad Bartley, Amazon could bring a 9 inch Kindle Fire model to the market this year. The 7 inch model could get an update as well.
We are raising our 2012 sales forecasts to 14.9 million from 12.7 million… But we believe there is an upward bias, particularly from the new 7- and 9-inch models, which we expect to launch in mid-2012,
explained Mr. Bartley. It is no secret that Amazon is not playing to be only second in the tablet market. The iPad 3 is going to be quite a formidable tablet to topple. Amazon will have a better chance to compete with a larger tablet product. Amazon fans have been quite understanding when it comes to the shortcomings of the first generation Kindle Fire. The company will have to step it up big time to keep the Kindle Fire fans happy. There is no word on how this 9 inch Kindle Fire will be priced (perhaps $299?).
