Amazon Denies Live TV Service?
0Amazon is working on some interesting projects, including a premium TV service. At least, that is what multiple sources were reporting a few days back. The Wall Street Journal did report that Amazon was planning to offer live TV channels through its Prime Instant Video service. But Amazon has denied that rumor:
We continue to build selection for Prime Instant Video and create original shows at Amazon Studios, but we are not planning to license television channels or offer a pay-TV service.
Amazon’s Drew Herdener explained. Amazon Prime members already get a lot for the $79 fee they pay every year. But I’d be surprised if Amazon does not expand the service in the future. Amazon is also rumored to be working on its own set-top box, so exciting things are ahead for Amazon customers.
