iPad Mini 2 with Retina Display Coming in Q3?

There is no secret that Google is planning to introduce Nexus 7 devices with a higher resolution display soon. Apple is also planning to release its own high-resolution mini tablet. The iPad Mini 2 is expected to have a Retina display with 2,048×1,536-pixels resolution. Apple could rely on Sharp or LG Display to manufacture this device.

The challenge for Apple will be to fit a Retina display in the iPad Mini without increasing its thickness dramatically. According to DisplaySearch analyst Paul Semenza, we could see this tablet in the third or fourth quarter of 2013. We don’t expect Apple to change its pricing scheme at this point.
