NOOK with GlowLight Is Perfect for Bedtime Reading
0Devices such as Kindle and NOOK are great for reading e-books. But you will need a light to use these in a dark room. The new NOOK Simple Touch is different in that regard. It has a glowing screen which lets you use it in the darkest rooms. GlowLight turns on instantly and can be adjusted with a touch. It illuminates your entire screen, saving you from having to use an external light source to read on your NOOK.
The new NOOK is quite lightweight too. It only weighs 6.95 ounces. The battery life is promising. B&N promises that owners can use this device to read over 1 month on a single charge with GlowLight on. Now we are talking about half an hour reading sessions here. The display remains a 6-inch touchscreen with 16-level grayscale. Anti-glare capability is built-in to this display.
This enhanced NOOK device has 2 GB in storage which can be expanded to 32 GB. Just like other NOOKs, this device offers support for PDF and ePub documents. With your package, you also get a screen protector and a power adapter. Overall, this seems like a pretty nice move by B&N to upstage Amazon. Will it work? We will have to wait and see.
You can pre-order your NOOK here but will have to wait till May 1st for your e-reader to ship.
