Amazon: We sold 4M Kindle Devices

It is no secret that Amazon has been selling Kindle devices like hot cakes. As it turns out, the company has sold millions of Kindle Fire and Kindle units. Amazon has announced that it sold 1m Kindle devices each week in December. That’s a pretty impressive number even tough it includes all Kindle devices.
We are grateful to our customers worldwide for making this the best holiday ever for Kindle … And in a huge milestone for independent publishing, we’d also like to congratulate Darcie Chan, the author of ‘The Mill River Recluse,’ and Chris Culver, the author of ‘The Abbey,’ for writing two of the best-selling Kindle books of the year.

The success of the Kindle platform has been great for independent publishers too. A good number top Kindle e-books are published using the KDP platform.
While Amazon’s results are impressive, it remains to be seen whether investors will appreciate them. One thing is for certain though: Amazon is quickly becoming the #2 player in the tablet business behind Apple.
