Kindle Owners’ Lending Library: 5000+ Free Books
0Amazon has been improving its Prime program in the past few months. Members not only get fast shipping but also free movies to watch on their computers. Now they can also borrow books for free on their Kindles. Kindle Owners’ Lending Library program gives Kindle owners access to thousands of titles, including former NY Times bestsellers.
In order to take advantage of this program, you are going to need a Kindle and Prime membership. Prime membership offers you free 2 day shipping on many items available on Amazon. You will also get access to over 10K streaming movies and TV shows. Kindle owners can borrow one book at a time. There are no due dates though. It does seem Amazon has not agreed with all publishers on the fees involved:
Titles in the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library come from a range of publishers under a variety of terms. For the vast majority of titles, Amazon has reached agreement with publishers to include titles for a fixed fee. In some cases, Amazon is purchasing a title each time it is borrowed by a reader under standard wholesale terms as a no-risk trial to demonstrate to publishers the incremental growth and revenue opportunity that this new service presents
Amazon Prime is quickly becoming a must-have program for Amazon shoppers. With the addition of free movies and books, it is becoming too hard to resist. In the end the program will pay for itself in the long run.
