Nook To Sell at RadioShack

The people at B&N are quite aware of Amazon’s plans for this holiday season. Amazon is expected to release a tablet that goes head to head with B&N’s NOOK Color. Amazon’s upcoming device will be a threat but B&N intends to keep the momentum for its NOOK going. RadioShack is the latest retailer to get the chance to sell NOOKs in its stores. That will allow B&N to reach even more people offline.

explained Scott Young, chief merchandising officer for RadioShack Corp. NOOK is already being sold at Staples, OfficeMax, and a few other retailers. Considering that RadioShack has about 4,675 stores in the U.S. and Mexico, it gives B&N the chance to reach out to people who may not take time to check NOOK out on the Internet. The plan at this point is to bring NOOK Color and NOOK 2nd gen to over 3000 stores in the U.S. These devices will be available through RadioShack.com as well.
