Amazon Jabs iPad With New Kindle Ad
0Amazon may have a lot to work out when it comes to making modifications to its Kindle application to stay in iTune’s App Store, but that has not stopped it from attacking Apple iPad and other LCD tablets with yet another ad. It is no secret that LCD type tablets are not great for reading outdoors. Amazon keeps reminding shoppers that with its commercials:
Amazon Kindle has iBooks beat by a long distance. Amazon Kindle is simply a superior “ebook reader” to Apple iPad. Even though iPad 2 is rumored to be more anti-reflective and suitable for outdoors use, it still won’t match Kindle as far as its screen is concerned. A few months ago, we would have given Apple a good chance to make the iPad the best ebook reader platform around. Let’s make no mistake about it. Apple iPad is the most versatile handheld tablet on the market. But Apple’s greedy ways seem to have finally caught up with the company as developers and content publishers look for ways to get around the company’s new subscription rules. Some may even leave the platform as they may not afford to share 30% of their sales with Apple.
Thankfully, content publishers have Android to look forward to. Amazon has been planning an Android App Store for quite some time. It may even have an Android tablet in the works. Kindle may not be the best handheld device to play games or even listen to audio on, but it is the best dedicated e-book reader on the market at this point.
