eBook Sales To Reach $1B?
0Who says people do not read anymore? Some people may have been skeptical about using Kindle or Nook to read books in the past. That is changing very fast. Only 8 years ago, ebook sales stood around $7m. The market has come a long way since then. With 10.3 million e-readers around, it’s no wonder sales of e-books in the U.S. increased by 220% from last year. According to Forrester Research, paper books still make the majority of revenue for book publishers. E-books, on the other hand, have all the momentum. With color e-ink and devices such as Kno on the horizon, there is only one direction for the e-book market to go.
Amazon is still the king in the e-book market. The majority of e-book sales are done through Amazon Kindle store. Barnes & Noble has done its best to keep up with Amazon. The company has just recently introduced NOOK color (ditching E-ink for a LCD screen). Considering that only 7% of people who read books in the U.S. read e-books, the market still has a huge potential.
