7- to 8-inch Tablet Sales to Drop?

For a long time Apple did not make 8 inch tablets assuming the demand was not high enough for smaller tablets (there were other reasons too). But could larger tablets be making a comeback? We have already seen Samsung’s 12.2 inch tablet. Apple could also make its own large iPad Pro next year. Digitimes is now reporting that smaller sized tablets could see a drop in sales as smartphones get bigger.

It will be interesting to see how 11- to 13.9-inch tablets will perform. There is a market for these devices among artists, designers, and professionals. But they are not portable and powerful enough yet. If Apple does release an iPad Pro some time in the future, the tablet PC landscape could shift in favor of larger tablets.
