5 Awesome RSS Readers for Mac
0Google Reader is dying. Google has decided the time is right to pull the plug on this amazing service. That does not mean RSS technology won’t be used in the future. In fact, there are plenty of applications that let you keep up with your favorite feeds on your devices without even needing Google Reader. These 5 RSS readers and notifiers for Mac are worth checking out for Google Reader users:
Newsbar for Mac: an attractive RSS notifier that provides you with feed updates without delay. Your feeds appear on the selected side of your display but stay out of your way.
Reeder: Reeder has been our favorite Google Reader client for OS X for quite some time. It is encouraging to see that the app will work even after Google Reader is done.
Fresh Feed Pro: a lightweight RSS notifier that brings the latest updates from your favorite sites to your Mac desktop. It can even read your news to you.
RSS Notifier: turns your OS X’s notification center into an RSS feed reader. It alerts you when you have news to read. You can customize its refresh interval.
RSS Bot: another app that lets you check your RSS feeds from your menubar. You can filter through them and open with Readability. The app does allow you to sync your RSS feeds with your Google Reader account but that won’t be a plus once Google Reader goes away.
These Mac applications make it much more convenient to keep up with your favorite blogs on your desktop computer or laptop. Have you found better apps? Please share here.
