13 Inch iPad, Samsung Tablet Coming?

The iPad Air is finally here. It is fast and quite sleek. Apple also has the iPad Mini with Retina display that will be shipping starting November 21. But could the company release a larger iPad? We have heard iPad Maxi rumors in the past. PadNews is now suggesting that Apple is testing a 12.9 inch iPad at Foxconn and will release it in March of 2014. That seems too early. As we have demonstrated on YouTube, large tablets are not necessarily more convenient to use (see our W7 reviews). While this is just a rumor, if Apple is to release an iPad Pro, it will probably have a 11-12 inch display.

Apple is not the only company thinking about releasing a larger tablet. Samsung is already planning on it. Samsung is working on a 13.3 inch tablet that could be released in 2014. The company is also working on a 12.2 inch tablet. Samsung has not acknowledged these plans but will know more in a few months.
